Mickey Arthur will be the new head coach of the Pakistan Cricket Team, while giving a press conference at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on January 23, 2023, Najam Aziz Sethi, the head of the management committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board, said that 90% of the matters have been settled with Mickey Arthur. 
Now there are reports that Mickey Arthur, who cut his 55th birthday cake on May 17 this year, has a contract with English county Derbyshire until 2025, which he does not want to leave.

 Mickey Arthur has also agreed to be associated with the national team, but Johannesburg (South Africa)-born Mickey Arthur, who has played 110 first-class matches, has also coached South Africa, Australia and Sri Lanka in the past. 
Under the coaching of Mickey Arthur, who became the coach of the Pakistan cricket team in May 2016, the Pakistan cricket team won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 under the leadership of wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed, however, the 2019 ICC World Cup where the Pakistan team could not play the semi-finals.

After that Ehsan Mani had sacked Mickey Arthur after assuming the post of Chairman PCB, now Najam Sethi's talks with Mickey Arthur as the head of management committee are almost settled.

 According to reports, Mickey Arthur will take over the duties of the head coach of the national team, however, he will not be available to coach the national team in the series against New Zealand in April and the assistant coach of his chosen coaching team will take over the role.
